Hampstead Garden Suburb

Complete refurbishment including two storey extension with dormer

Architects: Carden & Godfrey

This scheme was a complete refurbishment & erection of a rear two storey extension with dormer to a Grade 1 listed building in the beautiful Hampstead Garden Suburb. The Architects were Carden & Godfrey and great care was taken to blend the extension walls & roof to satisfy the Planners & Hampstead Garden Suburb preservation Trust.

The structural rear wall of the house was removed & rear of the extension was constructed sympathically. It included Crittall style leaded windows with black sub frames, existing window detailing was replicated & reclaimed roof tiles sourced to match. The paths & terrace were Cathedral grade reclaimed Yorkstone & the gardens were extensively landscaped.

Included within the refurbishment while observing the Grade 1 restrictions were the fitting of a new Plain English Kitchen, Walnut veneer study and bespoke oak semi glazed doors.

The ground floor was finished with a Versailles pattern solid oak floor.

The Bathroom walls were finished with Bisazza Tiles & floors in Carrera marble.

Each Bedroom had built in Cupboards finished in a veneer or Spray painted MDF.
